  4. This very small routine is to call a set of programs that you only want to
  5. run once a day, as many programs and utilities don't give you this option,
  6. such as a checkdisk program, such as NDD and CHKDSK, and anti-virus scanners.
  7. Also this version can run programs on the 1st, 7th, 13th, 19th and 25th of 
  8. the month. Once Only!!!

  10. How To Use
  11. ~~~~~~~~~~
  12. Place in your root directory the following files:
  13.         
  14.         ONCEONLY.COM    The main program
  15.         ONCEONLY.DAT    A very small data routine
  16.         ONCEONLY.BAT    Your batchfile of commands for once a day
  17.         ONCEVIR.BAT     Your batchfile of commands for once every 6 days
  18.  
  19. Edit ONCEONLY.BAT and ONCEVIR.BAT with your favourite text editor, and put in 
  20. it all the commands to be run as seperate lines, as in AUTOEXEC.BAT.

  22. Edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT, and put in a suitable location the command:

  24.         onceonly.com
  25.  
  26. Save and exit, and then re-boot your computer. The banner screen should come
  27. up, and run the programs. Re-boot again, and the programs SHOULDN'T run.

  29. If you loose your ONCEONLY.DAT file a new one will be created.

  34. OnceOnly V1.1   The first release of this very small routine. No fancy 
  35.                 gimmicks, just a bare-bones program. This text file is
  36.                 bigger than the programs.....

  38. OnceVir V1.2    The first release of a seperate once a week program. Calls
  39.                 routines on the 1st, 7th, 13th, 19th and 25th of the month.

  41. OnceOnly V1.1m  Small bug fix routine installed
  42. OnceVir V1.2m   Small bug fix routine installed
  43.  
  44. OnceOnly V1.3   Combines the OnceOnly and OnceVir routines in a single
  45.                 program for easier use.

  47. Legal Stuff

  50. This very small routine is released as FREEWARE. This means that I am 
  51. releasing the program to be used freely by anyone, without charge, as long
  52. as no changes are made to the program. I retain the copyright of the program.
  53. The program may also be given to anyone, as long as all the files - including 
  54. this one - are included. It may be distributed by any method, except by 
  55. shareware librarys that charge per program, rather than per disc of programs. 
  56. It may be freely distributed on the INTERNET at any location. "The program is 
  57. supplied as is, and I accept no responsibility for any damage, direct or
  58. consequential, however caused by this program."

  63. Viruses
  64. ~~~~~~~
  65. This program was scanned by most major anti-virus packages prior to zipping.
  66. This was done to make sure that the program had no viruses, and also didn't
  67. cause any false positives. This second point is very important, as this 
  68. program is designed to run Virus Scanners as its main aim, and so I don't
  69. want it itself to cause any false positives (where a scanner wrongly says
  70. a file has a virus in it). The scanners tested include Dr Solomon, 
  71. F-Prot 2.08a, Scan v106, NAVScan, and AVPro.

  73. If you have the McAfee program Validate (comes with Scan, Clean &c) then the 
  74. validate value for the .COM file is as follows. If the values differ to these 
  75. *DON'T* use them:
